Ugh, senior year is so expensive,
currently I need to buy;
*Yearbook.
*Cap & Gown.
*Announcements.
*Ring. (probably not)
Senior Pictures.
*Outfit for Senior Pics.

Luckily, my mom's friend is an aspiring photographer, and has agreed to take my Senior Pictures for free cuz she wants to practice on me, lol.
We are planning to take them out in the snow, since most people take them in the spring, summer or fall.
I am not a picture person, ha.
Well my mom wants me to wear an all white outfit, or at least a white coat with fur trimming around the hood.
I have looked just about everywhere online and have found nothing.
Stores checked so far:
Forever 21, which has pretty much ALL cardigans, and no jackets.
Papaya, uh idk about this store.
Macy's, they're alright, but not many options in white that aren't like 300 bucks.
Rue 21, uh no thanks. Sweaters look flimsy.
Eddie Baur, they're ok but not really.

ughhh, any ideas?
outfit ideas are seriously needed!
fml.

I can honestly say that i need/want nothing right now.
I haven't seen anything super cool, or anything really.
Although this may sound corny; I do hope my faithful reader (this means you, Kass:) is feeling generous this holiday season. I can't remember what i was watching or where, but it made me feel really stupid for sometimes acting so needy and inconsiderate. There really ARE other people out there who really need things. Hopefully you are generous enough to donate/volunteer this month. Three cans of food @ your local shelter would be nice, or maybe volunteering at the Humane Society from your town :)

(maybe i lied,  i want slipper boots, like the ones Kassie wears, they look comfy!)

So my school has a newspaper, it's around 20 pages, and has different sections to it.
In the 'VOICE' section, one of the writers (who is student) wrote an entire page article about the population and diversity of our school.
She wrote about how our school has 1,209 people of hispanic decent, and the other few hundred, are white, african american, or any other race.
So that makes 59 percent hispanic, and 41 percent 'other'.
We live in a fairly diverse community.
The article was interesting because it was written in both, english, and spanish.
The article also included a picture, which was of an American flag, and a Mexican flag, merged together somehow.
Exactly like this:

A few of the teachers, and a custodian, expressed their dislike of that picture because they said (and i quote):
'it was a defamation of the American flag'

i don't see why they were offended, since the article obviously is trying to state how the two cultures are merged together, and i think the picture states that perfectly.
i can also kind of understand why they were concerned, the custodian, served in the Vietnam war.
I see that he is being a bit too patriotic, but the teachers, i think, should understand that we do live the giant melting pot we call : AMERICA.
Their generation does not understand the ideas and issues of today.
Our generation has grown up with the fact that there are people who are different from us, but the same all at once.
We all have the same concerns, feelings, needs and wants, we just look different.
I was just really baffled when VM (she's a friend, as well as the news editor for the school paper) told me that someone had complained.
I see no point in sending an angry email to the Journalism coordinator.
Some of the people  of the previous generation, should really learn to grow up.
We all have to.

Salvation Army Bell Ringers.

A Salvation Army bell-ringer known as "Boaacn" collects donations outside New York's Grand Central Station as part of an emergency fundraising campaign July 13, 2009 in New York City. Due to the global economic downturn the bell-ringers normally only seen over the Christmas holiday period are fundraising throughout summer.
So you know those people who stand at the door and ring the bell with a kettle next to them?
That's what HK's new job is.
She's an official, Salvation Army Bell Ringer.
Fancy.
I never knew these people got paid to work in the freezing cold.
This is probably one of the most frustrating jobs of the winter.
Reasons :
It cold as fudge ice cream.
if people don't donate enough money to you, you're officially fired.
Example: You get paid 50 bucks for around 7 hours, and if you only make 40 you're fired. So you have to make more than they are paying you.
It wouldn't hurt if your boss didn't yell at you because he/she didn't listen to your specifications.

ugh, working sounds so harrrd!

Next time you hear a ringing bell, whip out your wallets.
:)
